Uni-cream ramen? Yes, please.

Tairyo Makoto is the surprise of the year. Only a few minutes from everyone's favorite meeting place in Shibuya. And the menu. From left to right we have a clam ramen, crab tsukemen, uni tsukemen, and a squid tsukemen. Innovative to say the least.

The problem with uni, at least at your average neighborhood sushi shop, is that freshness is key. If you want proof, go to your local 100 yen a plate spot and try some. It is horrendous. Don't actually go and do that, please.

Which is why I was surprised at how good this was. Surely they can't be using the freshest sea urchin to make this soup. But maybe they do. It is a moot point.
This tsukemen is great! Simple, creamy, and full of that uni-ocean flavor.
What are you waiting for.
