Yakushima is a small, wild island south of Kyushu in Japan. It's well known for it's old cedar trees, some over 7000 years old. It was this natural beauty that inspired Hayao Miyazaki to create the animated movie, Princess Mononoke.

After hiking for the entire day, I was treated to a veritable banquet. Spicy shin 3 minute instant ramen.

Even when there isn't a ramen shop for miles around... there's ramen.
