A ramen-slurping friend and his daughter were in town, and she (the daughter) had been looking forward to crushing something great with her honorary jiu-jiu all week.
Then this happened.
We just missed it. We salvaged the ramen adventure by going to a local unknown, but in my heart I was really hoping to try Kintoki.
So I came back!
Oh man, I'm glad I came back. This is chicken ramen kicked up to the highest level.
The shop's name can be translated as golden time, and that is exactly what this one was. A golden bowl of chicken soup, touched with some amazing chicken oil, a deep flavor profile, and some solid toppings.
But wait, their fame in the past was more about their soupless tantanmen.
Another bowl, please!
Oh man, oh man, oh man. I can never get enough of this style.
Remember, they usually run out of soup before they are meant to close. Arrive early.

Looks great. I'll take her back next time.
For reference, I arrived early in the dinner window on a Sunday, and the tantanmen was already sold out. For anyone intent on trying the tantanmen, it may be advisable to arrive early in the lunch window.
