らーめん 五ノ神製作所
This is the second shop from one of my top recommends, Gonokamiseisakujo. Actually, the first shop is called tsukemen Gonokamiseisakujo, while this one is ramen Gonokamiseisakujo. Nomenclature aside, if you like one, you'll like the other!
If you like shrimp, you'll like either!
Actually, the soup is made with lobster shells and flavored with shrimp oil. Two kinds of lobsters to be exact; ホーマル海老 and 伊勢海老. Homaru-ebi is your standard Maine lobster (expensive!) and ise-ebi is Japanese spiny lobster (expensive!). Top that with 甘海老油 (sweet shrimp oil).
I recommend nearby Okubo Hospital for anyone with a shrimp allergy!
But wait, there's more. Curry powder if that wasn't enough flavor for you.
And more. A basil pesto for even more.
It all works, the unusual flavors.
Barley visible are the shop's menma, which are some of the best I've ever had. This, but tender, and a little sweet. I'm not in the business of ranking pickled bamboo shoots, but if I was, this would be top 3 in Tokyo.

Hi Brian,
as I can't read Japanese, what button did you push on that vending machine for that specific bowl you ate?
