キャプテン (Captain Boar Ramen in Kyoto)

キャプテン

One thing I love about Kyoto is the proximity of beautiful nature. In Tokyo, it takes me about an hour to be out of the city center and into the middle of a forest. In Kyoto, about 20 minutes.

This shop, boasting chashu made from Japanese wild boar, was an interesting find. Even if you enjoy a bus ride out of town in search of a good bowl, I don't recommended this one.

Standing on the coattails of their unusual ingredient choice, this was an expensive bowl at 1200 yen. I really don't think the couple slices of tasty boar meat were worth the 700 yen. Yeah, I value the soup and noodles at about one 500 yen coin.

But if you have a car, live in Kyoto, and are up in the mountains for some other reason, go ahead and give it a shot.
